For the first time in its history, the World Travel Awards (WTA), better known as the “Oscar of tourism” crowned Chile with the first place in the most important category in Latin America: Best Destination 2020.
This recognition is added to the six consecutive years in which the event has awarded Chile as the Best Adventure Tourism Destination, given the variety of landscapes and sports that can be practiced in its territory.
In addition, this year the country obtained three additional awards in the WTA: Santiago was recognized as the Best Destination for Festivals and Events, for the third time in a row, the Atacama Desert was recognized as the Best Romantic Destination in South America, and for the second time the country won the award for Best Nature Destination.
